Day #78 Target Practice!
by Sara le Roux, Owner and Inspirer at The Creation Station Penistone and District
Boo was totally hyper today!
After a very brief nap when he got home from pre-school he was fully charged like the energizer bunny and there was no way I was getting him to sit down and focus on a table-based activity.
I have a stack of plastic cups in our spare room that are waiting for our Christmas ‘Arty Party’ on the 22nd December. I grabbed 6 of those, some sticky dots and a pair of balled up socks. If I can’t get Boo to sit down, maybe we could get a little bit creative and work on developing his motor skills at the same time.
What You’ll Need
- Plastic cups x 6
- Sticky dots – or even a marker pen
- Pair of socks (rolled up) – or a plastic ball would also work – it’s just not as squidgy for indoor play!
We managed to get two cups decorated with faces before Boo got way too excited and wanted to try to stack all the cups.
We practiced building our cup tower a couple of times before I showed Boo what our activity was all about.
He got very excited – if that was even more possible today!
We counted down each time before he threw the ‘ball’ and then kept working our way backwards across the room to see how far he could throw – and aim!
Even ‘Rabbit’ had a turn 🙂
Our activity carried on for about 25 minutes before we had to stop. Izzy had teamed up with Daddy and they were running interference trying to block our throws. We had great fun until Izzy a.k.a ‘Godzuki The Destroyer’ decided to go on the rampage, crush the cups and then roll around on them (just to make sure)! Ha ha!
A fun activity for a pair of hyper little bunnies!
