Day #47 Wiggly Jiggly Jellyfish
by Sara le Roux, Owner and Inspirer at The Creation Station Penistone and District
After the mix up with the coffee filters last time, I finally got hold of some of the big ‘frilly’ filters that we needed. First up….a jiggly jelly fish!
What You’ll Need
- 2 x Coffee filters – the big ‘frilly’ catering kind
- Washable markers – we used Crayola
- Curling ribbon
Just like we did back in ‘Fluttery Filters’ Boo got to work colouring the coffee filters with the washable markers.
When he was done I handed him a pipette and a (small) cup of water and let him experiment dripping, dabbing and pouring water onto the filters. We watched the colours soak up the water and create lovely swirly patterns.
When Boo was done we put the filters to one side to dry.
Placing one filter on top of the other, we stapled around the edges and left a small gap so that we could stuff it with ‘filling’ (cotton wool, toilet paper, newspaper – whatever you have!) before stapling it shut. Add a bit of curling ribbon for its tentacles (and a hanger) – Boo decided against the crepe paper strips shown in the photo – and there you go….
Wiggly, jiggly jellyfish 🙂
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Activity Time: 20 minutes (not including drying)
