Day #26 Pasta Pearls
by Sara le Roux, Owner and Inspirer at The Creation Station Penistone and District
I was looking at different activities to do with Boo when my mum suggested that I make a pasta necklace with him. I made so many pieces of ‘jewellery’ for her when I was little but somewhere along the way I had completely forgotten! Such a simple activity that used to occupy me for ages! Apparently I’d make her wear her ‘precious jewels’ wherever we went – she claims she wore them out in public but I’m not so sure I believe that…… 🙂
What You’ll Need
- Pasta – we used penne tubes (uncooked) as they are a little bit bigger and easier to thread
- String – we used thin parcel twine
- A large button – to tie on one end to stop all the ‘beads’ falling off before you can finish the necklace
I decided that we would get comfy for this activity so we hit the sofa with a bowl of pasta and the string. Boo got straight into the activity threading tubes of pasta onto the string. Each time one dropped down to the button I heard a little squeal from him 🙂
When we were finished I tied the two ends of the string together and voila!
Boo now refuses to take his necklace off and I’ve only had to repair it once after he and Izzy got into a wrestling match over who got to wear it! 🙂
